Summertime :D

15 Jun

This month, the season of rhythmic gymnastics competitions finish and I’m not in national tournaments so my training finishes next week. I´m not going to train with my team again until September and I can’t wait until that, so I’m going to train in Summer on my own, maybe I’ll meet some girl from my team to train together and have a good time enjoying what we do.

I will train with my hoop or another apparatus of rhythmic gymnastics in my yard almost everyday, because I want to improve my flexibility and rhythmic gymnastics techniques. I can’t stand not training because I just want to get better and enjoy my Summer as much as I can or maybe I can  look for a rhythmic gymnastics camp to go to and tell to my team to try to go together.

My team ;)

1 Jun

My team is made up of five girls, counting me. These girls are an important part of my life, I´m with them a lot of the time and we are always together and we are always agree on everything. I rely on them and they rely on me, so we support each other. We know each other gossips and we respect evey decision we make. My team wouldn’t be the same if they weren’t in it. I’m glad of having the team that I have and I wouldn’t change them.

My beginning in Rhythmic Gymnastics ;)

25 May

I started being interested in rhythmic gymnastics like 3 years ago because I started enjoying my cousin´s competitions and routines, so I asked my mom to join in a team just for fun but she didn´t want me to join it because I didn´t have so much time because of anothers activities that i was doing like dancing and playing the piano and the guitar.

Last year I beg my mom to do it and I found out that I could do rhythmic gymnastics in my school, because a year ago there wasn´t rhythmic gymnastics like activity after school in my school. So I convinced my mom and I join rhythmic gymnastics in my school. My trainer told me that I had the flexibility that i needed to compite, so she told my mom to go to another school where she was the trainer too. In that school, almost everyone compite in this sport so I finally joined the team. At first my mom thought that it could be hard for me to start in a competition team so I told her that she didn´t have to worry about that because I could took it.

Nowadays, it´s my second year in that team and I feel so happy with the other girls that are in my team, we are happy to stay together perhaps some girls that are now with me are not the same that last year ones. We always help and rely on each others because we are a team and we all enjoy doing a sport that we like and we need to be like that, because we couldn´t be a good team if we´re not in a good way togehter.

History

18 May

Rhythmic gymnastics started as an independent competitive sport in the early nineteen fifties by the Russians. The International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) officially recognized rhythmic gymnastics in 1962, first as modern gymnastics, then as rhythmic sportive gymnastics, and finally as rhythmic gymnastics, and held the first World Championships for rhythmics in 1963 in Budapest, Hungary. Rhythmic gymnastics was added as an Olympic sport in 1984, and competition was held in the individual all-around. In 1996, group competition was added. Groups were introduced at the same level in 1967 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Rhythmic gymnastics was added to the 1984 Summer Olympics inLos Angeles, with an Individual All-Around competition. However, many federations from the Eastern European countries were forced to boycott by the Soviet Union. Canadian Lori Fung was the first rhythmic gymnast to earn an Olympic gold medal. The Group competition was added to the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. The Spanish team won the first gold medal of the new competition.

Nowadays, rhythmic gymnastics has been changed a lot and the Spanish team continues being one of the best teams of the world.

Leotards

11 May

One of the most important things that each gymnast needs in a competition and , which that makes this sport very beautiful, are the leotards. The colour of the leotards depends a little bit  on of the music and the routine that you have.

You should wear a light and brightly coloured leotard, if you have a happy and slow music. They´re kind of simple and they usually have lots of sparkles and sequins.

If you have a fast but happy music, you should wear have a colourful leotard, one which has a lot of sequins and sparkles too.

The black and dark colours are used with fast and sad musics, but if it´s just sad music you can wear too a light coloured leotard as well, with sequins and sparkles too.

The design of them depends of  on the music too. In my experience, I have seen a little girls that had  have The Smurf´s music and she wore a leotard that was like the Smurfette´s dress, but this is just what trainers design for little girls. For teens, trainers design more serious leotards, with fire designs and things like that.

Differences between artistic and rhythmic gymnastics

10 May

There are many differences between these sports, and I’m going to talk to you about some of them.
– First of all, it’s not usually to find a man doing rhythmic gymnastics, however you can easily find a man doing artistic gymnastics.
– There are different kinds modalities of artistic gymnastics and they’re different for woman and man women and men.
– You don’t use any apparatuses in artistic gymnastics, but you can use a ball, clubs, rope, hoop or ribbon, or just do free hands, which that means no apparatus, in rhythmic gymnastics.
– When you do artistic gymnastics, in your floor routine, which that is the most similar to the rhythmic gymnastics routines, you do lots of flips and in the other sport you use more flexibility.
– The leotards that we use in rhythmic gymnastics have different styles  forms and are brighter than the ones used in artistic gymnastics ones.
As a conclusion, the two both sports are so very different.

More than a sport

20 Apr

You may You´ll be asking yourself why Rhythmic Gymnastics is my favorite sport or why do I like it. Well, I can´t tell you a lot of things about Rhythmic Gymnastics because I have only been doing it since last year, but I´m going to tell you about why I like it.

Rhythmic Gymnastics is a difficult sport, one which where you need some physical abilities conditions that not everyone has and it´s a hard sport where you do a lot of flexibility exercises that require great flexibility and they hurt.

In spite of this, when you are in a competition and it´s your turn to do your routine, you feel good and you show everyone all your sacrifice during training trains.

Maybe you’re thinking now that not everyone can do this sport, well you’re wrong. Not everyone has the same flexibility conditions but you don’t have to stop doing something that you like because of if that. If you like this sport you should try to do it, you will have a good time enjoying a sport that you like.
